BWiSTEM is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and inspiring Black Women in STEM careers, as well as advocating for equitable and inclusive workplace environments that nurture diverse talent. BWiSTEM encourages the engagement of all women who want to share professional perspectives, gain cutting-edge industry information, enhance leadership and communication skills, participate in partner programs, and build meaningful networks with peers.

Our Founding Members
Co-Founder
Deena Pierott
Deena Pierott is a Social Impact Entrepreneur and the Founder of the award-winning and nationally recognized STEM+Arts program for youth of color called iUrban Teen which has chapters in multiple states. She is also a founding member of Black Women in STEM 2.0. Ms. Pierott is also a diversity strategist and international public speaker. She has served on several boards and commissions, including a Gubernatorial appointment to the Commission on African American Affairs in the State of Washington.

Heather Ratcliffe
Heather Ratcliffe is a recognized technology executive. She describes herself as a servant leader whose mission is to amplify the voices of women of color in the workplace and community. She believes success is not a solo sport; it requires the commitment to lift as you climb.

Dr. Mona-Lisa Pinkney
Dr. Mona Lisa (ML) Pinkney is a Technology Executive who is committed to using her voice to advocate for a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment. ML’s passion is bridging technology and diversity through mentorship and sponsorship to underrepresented groups interested in pursuing a career in technology.
